Pre-work: (email / fax back to office)

  • New Client Registration at TAP Registration
  • Health History & Nutrition Intake Form
  • 1 week Food Diary
  • Setup first 90 min. consultation by seeing availability on Turn Around Calendar

By the time of your first consultation, your medical history, lab test report and nutrition information will have been reviewed.

During the first consult, we will review your medical and lifestyle history, current health issues, and current diet. TAP goals will be set. Optional metabolic lab testing will be discussed and performed around or during the initial consultation. Biometric measurements will also be noted.
Initial assessment of dietary needs as well as some supplement recommendations may be discussed to start the healing process.

Post First Consult: Customized nutritional and supplement recommendation report will be provided to you. This work is performed after office hours. (Several hours are necessary to create the report based on your individual health needs and lab test results.) Customized menus will also be created.

Follow-up appointment is necessary to easily transition into TAP. (60 min)
Personalized TAP Strategy Phases as well as lab results will be reviewed and discussed to help alleviate feeling of being overwhelmed when trying to incorporate a new plan. At conclusion of the follow-up, we will identify areas for additional support and set goals and actions for next appointment.

Monthly Follow up Consults
After the first two consultations, we will assess how to proceed in the future; several options are available: on a need-to- consult individual session basis, weekly or by month support (preferred for most coverage). You can also join a Turn Around Support Group or become a Turn Around Member and receive ongoing online support.

Follow up consultations: Five 45-minute follow-up consultations specially priced. Time may be divided among answering emails, phone or office visits depending upon client location.

Phone Consultations for Out-of-State Clients are available. Whether it's the proximity to our offices or you are living in another state, phone consultations are available.

Individual or Group Coaching: These coaching sessions can be conducted via teleconference, webinar, at client location, and / or at Turn Around office.

Lifestyle & Nutritional Interventions

Biomedical research suggests that many inflammation and hormone issues may be attributable to an inability to break down certain food proteins to the detriment of your overall well-being. The foods that appear to cause the most harm are gluten (the protein in wheat, oats, rye and barley), casein (the protein in milk) and eggs (yolk and white).  Many clients, doctors and nutritionists have reported marked improvement in gut health and mood management after eliminating foods containing allergens and toxins in the diet. Better stress management techniques and greening the home and work environment, aids the healing process dramatically.

Gluten-free, Casein-free, Egg-free meals help you improve your overall well being. This includes better bowel movements, less constipation / gas / diarrhea, better sleep patterns, less cranky behavior, better mental clarity, less depression, and healthier skin.

Plant based low cholesterol meals allow the intestines to heal. Only carbohydrates that are easily digested are allowed in the TAP. In extreme cases of detoxifying the body even grains and potatoes may be disallowed. Fruits and vegetables are usually peeled and cooked.  Nuts are allowed, unless there is an allergy. Care is taken with the quantity and quality of nuts in the cleansing or detoxification stage of TAP. Nuts, especially peanuts, can be moldy. Additionally, most nuts are too high in linoleic fatty acids to be healthy in large quantities.

Eliminating Oxalates helps counteract inflammation early on in the TAP. Oxalates are highly reactive molecules that are abundant in many plant foods, but in human cells, when present in large numbers, can lead to oxidative damage, depletion of glutathione, the igniting of the immune system's inflammatory cascade, and the formation of crystals which seem to be associated with pain and prolonged injury

Soy-free Elimination Strategy. Soy can cause suppression of certain hormone levels (e.g. thyroid hormone) and is therefore eliminated from meals for the first 30 days of the TAP program to restore balance. Soy is very closely related to casein and gluten. Further, the phytoestrogens in soy will put an additional load on the PST enzyme.

Monosodium Glutamate-free Meals. MSG,  Modified Food Starch and hydrolyzed vegetable protein are very hard on you if you have been subjected to yeast overgrowth. These are eliminated from TAP meals.

Sugar-free Meals. Sugar  feeds yeast and is therefore monitored or eliminated in your TAP meal planning. Agave nectar and / or Stevia is used instead.

Food Chemistry Issues Phenols, Salicylates and Amines are chemicals found in basically all foods. You may have difficulty processing these natural food chemicals into useful, non-harmful substances. This condition is called PST deficiency. So you need to reduce your  intake, or help the body process them. Otherwise they build up to levels which can affect your behavior and physical condition. Some typical symptoms indicating you may have a problem are: dark circles under the eyes, red face/ears, diarrhea, hyperactivity, aggression, headache, head banging or other self-injury, inappropriate laughter, difficulty falling asleep at night, and night waking for several hours.

Beneficial Supplements. Probiotics are beneficial living microorganisms that support healthy gastrointestinal and immune systems.  Digestive enzymes assist with food intolerance - poor digestion. An enzyme test can reveal what you have trouble digesting, absorbing or assimilating - nutrients such as protein, sugars or fats. The test may also reveal certain nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin C and calcium. There is an enzyme formula for each digestive problem and nutritional deficiency. Minerals, Vitamins for Proper Methyl Metabolism, Amino Acids, Fatty Acids, Antioxidants, Herbs, and Epsom Salt Baths are other very important natural supplemental regimes that are explored.

Chelation. Chelation is the process of removing toxic metals from the body. Toxic metals are said to come from many sources including our environment, fish, and vaccines. There are natural chelators found in supplements and there are medically prescribed chelators available as options. During stage 1 of  TAP you may be asked to eliminate meat and fish from your meals for 30 days, to allow your body to detoxify.

Cleaning up the Environment. Check for hidden toxins in cleaners, carpets, paint, bedding, household chemicals and mold. You will learn to shop for eco-friendly non-toxic cleaners and household products. You will also learn to read food labels and stay away from hidden chemical toxins in food.

Turn Around Diary. It is important to keep a food and behavior journal. You will track all intake and outake (BM), as you go through the TAP stages. It is easier to track down a problem factor when it is introduced slowly - by itself - into the regular routine. TAP encourages home-cooking and / or purchasing plant-based natural organic cruelty-free products from select vendors. Any unquestionable ingredients are probably not good for you. Withdrawal reactions, rashes, and positive progress will be monitored and measured throughout the program - subjectively and objectively.
